Lufthansa Cargo has added three new Airbus A321F destinations to their short and medium-haul network, including Larnaca, Athens and Milan. For summer 2023, Lufthansa Cargo’s intra-European network will include 50 weekly flights to 12 destinations.
On Tuesday (April 4, 2023), Lufthansa Cargo announced the addition of three new destinations to their short and medium-haul network with service to Larnaca, Athens and Milan. With the added routes, the carrier will offer over 50 weekly Airbus A321F intra-European flights to 12 destinations for summer 2023. Lufthansa Cargo currently operates two Airbus A321Fs and will add two more to their fleet this summer. The fuel-efficient A321F offers a payload capacity of 28 tons on 14 pallet and container positions on the main deck and 10 on the lower deck. In addition to the expanded short and medium-haul network, Lufthansa Cargo offers 79 weekly connections with 16 Boeing 777 Freighters to intercontinental destinations, complementing the belly hold capacities of more than 7,000 flights operated by Lufthansa Group airlines.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Bhat, said,

All signs are pointing to growth at Lufthansa Cargo. With Larnaca, Athens and Milan, we have now added further very promising destinations to our route network. We want to expand our presence with our well-known service and product quality both in the fast-growing e-commerce segment and in the field of individual transport solutions according to customer needs.”
With revenue of €4.6 billion and 7.2 billion freight ton kilometers in 2022, Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world’s leading air freight companies, employing approximately 4,100 team members worldwide. The airline is currently equipping their fleet of dedicated 777 Freighters with Sharkskin technology to reduce drag, and expand their SAF program to further reduce CO2 emissions.
