With the addition of a new Boeing 777F Freighter at the end of August, Lufthansa Cargo will expand their winter 2022/23 timetable to 78 weekly 777F services. The added freighter will allow the carrier to grow their network in Asia and North America.
On Wednesday (August 10, 2022), Lufthansa Cargo announced that they will add a new Boeing 777F Freighter to their fleet at the end of august, allowing the carrier to expand their network to Asia and North America. For the winter 2022/23 timetable, the carrier will offer 78 weekly 777F services, including the doubling of capacity to Vietnam with the addition of Hanoi from November 2022. Lufthansa Cargo will also add weekly flights to Hong Kong, Kansai, Seoul-Incheon, Mexico City and Chicago. From the end of August the company will offer the capacity of 16 Boeing 777Fs, and a second Airbus A321F will enter service on short and medium-haul routes in October.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Bhat, said,
“We are observing strong demand for our product to North America as well as to economically strong Asia. Vietnam in particular is a clear growth market and I am very pleased that we are establishing a new station there and can thus offer our customers an attractive range of quality cargo transport services to this region.”
Currently, Lufthansa Cargo’s Winter 2022/23 schedule includes 78 weekly 777F rotations with 38 weekly connections to attractive destinations in Asia. In November, the carrier will add new twice-weekly service from Frankfurt to Hanoi (HAN) via Mumbai (BOM). Lufthansa Cargo already offers twice-weekly service between Frankfurt and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) via Bangkok (BKK). Additionally, Lufthansa Cargo will increase service from Frankfurt to Seoul (ICN) via Kansai (KIX) from three to four weekly flights. Frequencies to Hong Kong (HKG) will also be increased from four to five weekly flights.
Lufthansa Cargo will also offer 34 weekly freighter service between Europe to North America, with service from Frankfurt to Mexico City (MEX) increasing from five to six weekly flights, and to Chicago (ORD) increasing from seven to eight weekly flights. Lufthansa Cargo will also maintain their proven four weekly routes to South America, and two weekly connections within Europe. For winter 2022/23, the carrier will also offer B777F service to Tel Aviv (TLV) and Cairo (CAI).
