On Monday (October 20, 2025), LOT Polish Airlines announced the opening of ticket sales for new direct service between Warsaw (WAW) and Almaty Kazakhstan.  Starting May 31, 2026, the route will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with flights departing Warsaw at 22:40.  The return flights will depart Almaty on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 09:20.  The new route will be operated with a Boeing 737-8 MAX.

In Monday’s announcement, LOT Polish Airlines’ Registered Representative and Network Director, Robert Ludera, said,

“Almaty is the second Kazakh city to join LOT Polish Airlines’ regular flight network. Kazakhstan, as the largest economy in Central Asia and one of Poland’s key trading partners in that area, is an excellent destination for our passengers thinking about expanding their businesses.  With its uniquely picturesque location at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, this region is also an interesting holiday destination. I believe that both business and tourism conditions will encourage travellers to choose this destination.”

Almaty is Kazakhstan’s center of culture, business and art. The city enchants visitors with its posh boulevards, a wide range of restaurants and cafés, as well as numerous museums and art galleries. The city’s unique architecture features monumental, historic buildings and wide avenues offering a compelling contrast to modern skyscrapers.  The Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains, surrounding the city to the south, offer numerous hiking trails of varying difficulty.  One of the most picturesque trails leads to Big Almaty Lake, which is surrounded by three four-thousand-meter peaks – Sovetov (4,317 meters above sea level), Ozyorny (4,110 meters above sea level) and Turist (3,954 meters above sea level).

LOT Polish Airlines connects Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the world, including the U.S., Canada, India, Japan and South Korea.  The carrier operates long-haul flights with state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliners.  Founded in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines is the 11th oldest airline in the world, and is also one of the most internationally recognized Polish brands.
