Today, Scottish regional carrier announced new one-stop, same plan service between Aberdeen and Southampton starting March 23, 2020. With the collapse of Flybe last week, Loganair is taking steps to maintain UK regional connectivity. The carrier will operate an evening flight in both directions as both cities are home to several maritime and petrochemical companies that depend on the air link. The new flight will depart Aberdeen at 4:35PM and arrive in Southampton at 7:15PM. Likewise, a flight will depart Southampton at 4:25PM, arriving Aberdeen at 7:05PM. Each flight will have a stopover in Newcastle, where passengers continuing to Aberdeen or Southampton can remain onboard. In Monday’s announcement, Loganair’s Chief Commercial officer, Kay Ryan said,

“Following last week’s announcement that Loganair will add 16 former Flybe routes to its network, today’s announcement is a further boost for connectivity at Aberdeen and Southampton airports. We’ve already introduced replacement flights from Aberdeen to Birmingham, Belfast and Manchester; and from Southampton to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle and the early response from customers has been very strong indeed despite the cautious approach that many are taking to travel right now.”

Loganair guests enjoy a free checked bag and inflight refreshments as well as the carrier’s free “Valet Bag” service for bags which are too large for overhead bins.

In addition to the new Aberdeen-Southampton service, Loganair will be adding an extra three weekly services between Aberdeen and Newcastle on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from April 29, 2020. The additional flights will complement the carrier’s existing three-times daily jet schedule on the route. The extra weekly flights depart Aberdeen at 3:00PM and also takeoff from Newcastle at 5:00PM.
