LATAM Unveils First Newly Painted Embraer E195-E2 Aircraft

LATAM Airlines Brazil unveiled their first Embraer E195-E2 at Embraer’s hangar in São José dos Campos on Tuesday (June 9, 2026). The E195-E2s will begin joining the Group’s operating fleet during the fourth quarter of 2026.
On Monday (June 15, 2026), LATAM Airlines Group announced the unveiling of LATAM Airlines Brazil’s first, freshly painted, Embraer E195-E2, which was unveiled at Embraer’s hangar in São José dos Campos last Tuesday (June 9, 2026). The aircraft type will begin being delivered to the airline in the last quarter of this year, and the presentation of the first painted E195-E2 marks a milestone in the partnership between LATAM and Embraer, and represents progress in the company’s plan to expand the reach and efficiency of its airline network. The aircraft will enable increased flight frequencies and schedule options, the development of new markets, and stronger integration between different regions of Brazil, as well as between those regions and the rest of the world through LATAM group’s main hubs.
In Monday’s announcement, LATAM Airlines Brazil’s CEO, Jerome Cadier, said,
“We are further enhancing the versatility of our fleet to unlock new markets, expand existing operations, and optimize capacity to serve even more destinations sustainably.”
The E195-E2 livery design required extensive adaptations in the application of LATAM’s brand identity. Due to the aircraft’s fuselage characteristics, LATAM chose to expand the display area of its visual identity, increasing visibility and brand presence along the fuselage. Decisions related to the aircraft’s paint scheme also considered operational and environmental criteria. The predominant use of white follows the standard adopted by LATAM because it contributes to lower heat absorption, weight reduction, and greater operational efficiency throughout the aircraft’s service life. The livery design also extends to areas such as the engines, reinforcing the brand’s presence in photographs, which are frequently shared by passengers and planespotters.

LATAM Group’s order for the E195-E2 includes a firm order for 24 aircraft valued at approximately US$2.1 billion (list price), in addition to 50 purchase options. Preparations for the E195-E2’s entry into service are already underway. In April, LATAM Airlines Brazil completed the hiring of over 50 captains and first officers for their first crew class dedicated exclusively to the aircraft, and began training both in simulators and supervised flights for pilots already employed by the company to obtain technical qualification on the E195-E2.
Since 20219, LATAM Airlines Brazil has expanded its operations from 44 to more than 60 airports in Brazil, where it now serves the highest number of domestic destinations in its history.
