Korean Air Celebrates Inaugural Service Between Seoul Incheon and Budapest, Hungary

Korean Air launched their inaugural flight between Seoul Incheon and Budapest, Hungary on Monday, October 3, 2022. The route will be operated once weekly with a 269-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, increasing to twice weekly from October 29, 2022.

On Tuesday (October 4, 2022), Korean Air announced the launch of inaugural service between Seoul Incheon International Airport and Budapest, with the first flight departing on Monday, October 3, 2022. A launch ceremony was held at Incheon’s Terminal 2, and was attended by Korean Air’s Managing Vice President and Head of Korea Regional Headquarters, Park Yohan, the Hungarian Ambassador to Korea, His Excellency Dr. István Szerdahelyi, and officials from the Incheon International Airport Corporation.


The route between Incheon and Budapest will be operated once weekly on Mondays with a 269-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The flight will depart Seoul Incheon at 11:25 and arrive in Budapest at 17:05. The return flight takes off the next day at 19:15 and arrives at Seoul Incheon at 12:50+1 (all times local). Starting October 29, 2022, Korean Air will increase the route frequency to twice weekly flights on Mondays and Sundays. The new Budapest passenger service follows the launch of cargo service to Budapest in February 2020, and will support Korean Air’s plans to bolster the competitiveness of their European network, particularly in Eastern Europe.
