On Wednesday (September 27, 2023), JetBlue announced the introduction of a new seating policy, their latest commitment to elevate the guest experience. Under the carrier’s new formal family seating guarantee, customers 13 or under traveling with an adult on the same reservation will be ensured that they will be able to sit together. JetBlue’s new seating guarantee incorporates a new process that proactively identifies reservations where children and adults are traveling together without prior seating assignments. This benefit is available free of charge for all customers, including guests selecting JetBlue’s Basic Blue fare, the carrier’s version of basic economy. For bookings made within 24 hours of travel, seats may need to be assigned by a JetBlue airport crewmember.

In Wednesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Joanna Geraghty, said,

“We know traveling with young children can add challenges, and we want to do everything we can to put parents and families at ease by providing a smooth trip each time they choose JetBlue. This enhanced family seating policy reflects our commitment to continue to meet the needs of our customers and provide exceptional service.”
