JetBlue Appoints Dawn Southerton as New Vice President, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer

JetBlue has named Dawn Southerton as the carrier's new Vice President, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer.  In her new role, Southerton will oversee the carrier’s accounting, accounts payable, credit card fraud, payroll and tax teams.

On Monday (December 11, 2023), JetBlue announced the appointment of Dawn Southerton as the airline’s new Vice President, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer.  Ms. Southerton will report to JetBlue’s Chief Financial Officer, Ursula Hurley, and will be responsible for the company’s accounting, accounts payable, credit card fraud, payroll and tax teams.  Dawn Southerton joins JetBlue from PepsiCo, where she held a number of positions over the past two decades, serving most recently as Vice President and Controller of Pepsi Beverages Company.  Prior to joining Pepsi, she started her career with KPMG, before holding a number of finance roles with TransCanada Pipeline, Heinz, and the Neiman Marcus Group.


In Monday’s personnel announcement, JetBlue’s Chief Financial Officer, Ursula Hurley, said,


“Dawn brings extensive financial acumen, a track record of creating positive change for complex, large-scale organizations, and a passion for supporting and developing talent.  I’m looking forward to working with her and our entire team as we continue to drive the business forward.”


Also commenting on her new role with JetBlue, Dawn Southerton, added,

Dawn Southerton is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and is also a chartered professional accountant.
