Japan Airlines Expands Codeshare Partnership With India’s Vistara

Japan Airlines announced Friday an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Indian carrier Vistara which will expand travel options between Japan and India. The codeshared routes include JAL’s flights between Tokyo, Delhi and Bengaluru and other connecting flights.

Today, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced an expanded codeshare relationship with Vistara of India. From March 15, 2020, customers of both airlines will enjoy additional options when traveling between Japan and India. Codeshare service will be available on JAL’s international routes between Tokyo, Delhi and Bengaluru as well as on connections to major cities on the routes of both carriers. The agreement provides 13 new Indian destinations on JAL’s international route network including Goa and Amritsar, while Vistara will add Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka to their network. In Friday’s announcement, Japan Airlines’ Executive Officer for International Relations and Alliances, Hideki Oshima said,

“The travel demand from India to Japan has more than doubled over the past decade, making this a key market for Japan Airlines. By strengthening our partnership with Vistara, we will provide an international network that better matches the actual needs of our mutual customers.”


Also commenting on the codeshare expansion, Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vinod Kannan added,
