International Airlines Group Orders 37 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

The International Airlines Group (IAG) has today announced an order for 37 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. The order includes a conversion of 12 options announced in 2013 to firm orders, plus a new order for 25 more A320neo Family aircraft and 50 options.

On Thursday (July 28, 2022), the International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) announced an order for 37 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, including A320neos and A321neos. Today’s order includes the conversion of 12 options originally announced in August 2013 into firm orders, as well as a new order for an additional 25 A320neo Family aircraft plus a purchase option for 50 more. The company will determine the exact mix of models closer to the delivery dates. IAG’s new aircraft will be delivered between 2025 and 2028 and will replace Airbus A320ceos in the Group’s short-haul fleet. The fleet order is subject to approval by IAG shareholders.


The list price for an A320neo is approximately $120 million, while the A321neo’s list price is around $140 million. IAG has negotiated a substantial discount from these list prices. The company will also select engines for the new aircraft closer to the delivery date. The 50 purchase options included in the agreement will be available for delivery between 2028 and 2030. The International Airlines Group is the parent company of Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level and Vueling.
