On Tuesday (March 29, 2022), Icelandic technology provider Dohop announced that they have raised significant capital via an equity investment round from Scottish Equity Partners (SEP). The investment will allow the company to accelerate the growth and development of their innovative virtual interlining services, allowing airline and scheduled transport companies to sell complex itineraries, without the need for codesharing or traditional interline agreements. SEP initially invested in the company in November 2020, and since that time, Dohop has expanded their partner network by over 25 carriers across five continents, resulting in a network of more than 50 airlines including Air Transat, Vueling, LATAM, easyJet and many more. SEP’s original investment in Dohop also allowed the company to grow their team by 31 percent in ten countries, including Germany, the UK, France, and Iceland.

In Tuesday’s announcment, Dohop’s CEO, David Gunnarsson, said,

“Our technology enables partnerships between airlines and offers passengers more destinations and travel customisation. With the support of SEP, our airline ecosystem has grown substantially, and we will continue to connect the world’s leading airlines, airports, and scheduled transport providers across the globe. We are delighted to have SEP’s continued support in our mission to revolutionise travel connectivity.”

Scottish Equity Partners’ Director, Andrew Davidson, added,

“With the easing of global travel restrictions, airlines are keen to expand their networks and distribution capabilities, and we are delighted to provide Dohop, the leading provider of interlining technology, with further funding to address a four billion annual passenger market.”

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) is one of Europe’s leading and most experienced technology growth equity firms, helping founders and management teams achieve their global ambitions. The firm provides investment, expertise and access to an international network, working closely with companies to maximize business growth and value. SEP’s previous travel tech investments include the global travel search company Skyscanner. SEP is also a signatory to the UNPRI, the world's leading proponent of responsible investment.
