Iberia will bolster their winter 2022/23 schedule to the U.S. with 21 percent more flights and 15 percent more seats than in 2019. The carrier will also maintain service to Dallas, with daily service from June 2023, and increase frequencies to Miami and New York.
On Monday (September 12, 2022), Iberia announced that they will offer more flights to the U.S. for winter 2022/23 compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019, with 21 percent more flights and 15 percent more seats. Iberia will maintain service to Dallas, which will increase to a daily frequency from June 2023, and will also increase frequencies to Miami and New York. For summer 2023, the carrier will operate flights to Los Angeles with an Airbus A350-900, providing more capacity. This summer Iberia offered service to eight U.S. including New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco and Puerto Rico, as well as new service to Dallas and Washington DC, which debuted in June.
Compared to last winter, this season Iberia will increase frequencies to Miami from 10 to 14, with two daily flights, and to New York from 10 to 13 weekly flights, increasing to 14 in March 2023. From April 2023, the carrier will also upguage the aircraft servicing the Los Angeles route to an Airbus A350-900, offering greater capacity, as well as efficiency, thanks to the aircraft’s Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. The engines help improve aircraft efficiency by around 30-35 percent compared to previous generation similar capacity widebody aircraft.
Additionally, Iberia will support Spanish talent with the Teatro Real. On September 15, 2022, Teatro Real will offer a concert at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, bringing its orchestra to America for the first time. The event will be sponsored by Iberia and the El Corte Inglés chain of department stores. In partnership with American Airlines, Iberia also promotes Spanish talent in the U.S. with their sponsorship of the ‘Authentic Flamenco Show’, supporting it on tour, which will stop in three destinations in the U.S. served by Iberia, including New York, Washington DC and Dallas.
