Iberia to Expand Frequencies Between Madrid and Lima to Twice Daily by September 2023

Iberia will progressively expand frequencies on their route between Madrid and Lima, Peru. From June, the route capacity will be increased to 11 times weekly, expanding to double-daily flights in September, operating all days except Sunday.

On Tuesday (March 7, 2023), Iberia announced an expansion of service between Madrid and Lima, Peru for summer 2023. From June, the carrier will offer 11 weekly frequencies on the route, expanding to 13 by September, with double-daily service all days except Sundays. This represents an increase in capacity of 54 percent compared to 2022, and 12 percent growth compared to 2019. The route will be operated with a 348-seat Airbus A350 featuring Iberia’s Premium Economy product, offering more space, a larger screen, a generous seat recline and exclusive onboard service. Additionally, all Iberia Plus customers will enjoy free Wi-Fi in all cabins.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Iberia’s Director – Commercial, Network, and Alliances, Mª Jesús López Solás, said,
“We see that the demand between Spain and Peru is very robust, that there is a growing interest from travelers in both directions, both for tourism and business, and this encourages us to advance our growth plans in the country to advance towards our objective , which is to offer two daily flights between Madrid and Lima.”

The flight schedules between Lima and Madrid have also been timed to provide seamless onward connections for inbound customers via Madrid to over 100 European destinations in Iberia's network. Customers traveling to Peru will also enjoy seamless onward connections via Lima to 12 domestic destinations, including Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cuzco, Chiclayo, Iquitos, Juliaca, Piura, Puerto Maldonado, Tacna, Talara, Tarapoto and Trujillo.
