On Monday (October 25, 2021), Iberia announced that by the end of 2021, they will have restored service to Colombia to pre-pandemic levels. In November, the carrier will increase service to Bogotá from seven to 10 weekly flights, and will add three additional weekly frequencies to Cali. Additionally, guests will enjoy service to 12 additional codeshared destinations in Colombia including Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Leticia, Medellín, Montería, Pereira, San Andrés, Santa Marta and Yopal. Bogotá-Madrid flights will be operated with a 348-seat Airbus A350-900 featuring 31 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy and 293 Economy Class seats. The three additional weekly flights to Cali will be operated with an Airbus A330-200 featuring Tourist Premium and Economy Class cabins.

In Monday’s announcement, Iberia’s Director of Network Development and Alliances, Ma. Jesús López-Solas, said,

“We celebrate 75 years flying to Latin America and investing in this region, the good times and the not so good ones. Colombia is a market of enormous importance for us where we have maintained connectivity throughout the pandemic. Now our goal is to stimulate traffic to Europe by recovering the same capacity that we offered before COVID. There is a latent demand, which is eager to travel again and we have already shown that health measures can be reconciled with the recovery of the air sector, so vital for the economy of any country.”

In addition to increased service to Colombia, Iberia offers over 90 connections in Spain and across Europe. The carrier offers up to seven return flights to London, as well as flights to Lisbon, Porto, Frankfurt, Brussels, Geneva, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Munich, Venice, Lyon and Marseille, among others.
