On Monday (November 28, 2022), Iberia announced that they will offer over one million additional seats between Madrid and Italy for the winter 2022/23 season, a capacity increase of 17 percent compared to the winter 2019/20 season. Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Nostrum will offer more seats to Rome than ever before, with a minimum of five daily flights, while increasing capacity to Milan, Naples and Turin. The Madrid-Rome route will be operated wit a 200-passenger Airbus A321, which will add 327,000 additional seats, a 34 percent increase compared to the pre-pandemic winter season. In total, the Iberia Group will offer scheduled direct daily service to seven Italian cities, including Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Turin and Naples. Inbound customers to Madrid will also enjoy convenient connections across Iberia’s network to destinations in Latin America and the U.S.

This winter, the Group will offer five daily flights to/from Milan, with three to Linate and three to Malpensa. The carrier will also offer three daily flights to both Venice and Bologna, as well as daily service to Florence. For customers traveling to Naples, Iberia Express will operate 10 weekly flights, and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum will offer 14 weekly frequencies to Turin. Italy is an important market for Iberia, as a substantial volume of connections originate there, with customers traveling to onward network destinations in the U.S. and Latin America.

Iberia has relaunched service to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Caracas (Venezuela). For the winter 2022/23 season, which runs through March 25, 2023, Iberia will operate over 260 weekly flights to 18 destinations to 16 countries in the Americas. For customers traveling to the U.S. Iberia is also extending service into the winter to Dallas, and will increase frequencies to Miami from 10 to 14 weekly flights, and to New York from 10 to 13 weekly flights. The carrier also offers direct flight to Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles.

From December 2022, Iberia will operate three daily flights to Mexico and two daily flights to Bogotá (Colombia) and Buenos Aires (Argentina), and in January 2023, the airline will increase frequencies to Havana (Cuba) from three to four weekly flights. Daily service will be maintained to Santiago (Chile), Lima (Peru), São Paulo (Brazil), San José (Costa Rica), and flights to Montevideo (Uruguay) will increase from six to seven weekly frequencies. Service to Panama will also increase from four to six weekly flights, while flights to Puerto Rico will continue to operate four times weekly.
