Gulf Air to Resume Service to Tbilisi, Georgia From July 15, 2021

Gulf Air will resume service to Tbilisi in Georgia with three weekly flights from July 15, 2021. The carrier has also successfully launched service to all summer 2021 seasonal destinations including Mykonos, Santorini, Malaga, Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh.

On Monday (July 12, 2021) Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the restart of three weekly flights to Tbilisi, Georgia starting July 15, 2021. The carrier currently flies to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, Muscat, Cairo, Amman, Casablanca, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Athens, Istanbul, Larnaca, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Dhaka, Colombo and the Maldives, as well as several destinations in India and Pakistan. Gulf Air has also successfully launched all summer 2021 seasonal routes including service to Mykonos and Santorini (Greece), Malaga (Spain) and Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt).


In Monday’s announcement, Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Waleed Abdulhameed AlAlawi, said,


“We have been operating direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Georgia since 2017 and it is one of the airline’s main destinations in the Caucasus region. We are extremely happy to see a much healthier trend in summer traffic and the resumption of some of our most popular destinations as the global vaccination program continues to bring a sense of normalcy back into our routine.”


Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and normally serves 49 cities in 27 countries. From its hub at Bahrain International Airport, the airline offers twice daily service to 10 or more regional cities as well as international flights to the Indian subcontinent and Europe. Gulf Air currently operates a modern fleet of 33 narrow and widebody aircraft and by 2023 their fleet will consist of 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, 12 Airbus A320neos and 17 Airbus A321neos.
