On Friday (May 28, 2021), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of inaugural service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Montego Bay (MBJ) in Jamaica. The new service marks the sixth country served by the low-cost carrier. Frontier will offer three weekly flights on the route, which also opens convenient roundtrip connections to Jamaica from Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Newark and Philadelphia. To celebrate the launch of the new route, Frontier is offering introductory fares starting at only $99. To qualify for the low promo fares, tickets must be purchased by June 4, 2021 for travel on select days through June 24, 2021 (roundtrip purchase not required).

In Friday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Commercial, Daniel Schurz, said,

“We’re thrilled to launch nonstop flights from Miami to Montego Bay right in time for summer vacation. The addition of Jamaica boosts Frontier’s robust network map to 33 nonstop routes from MIA, our largest summer schedule ever in Miami. We look forward to welcoming travelers onboard for an unforgettable trip to Jamaica this summer to explore its marvelous culture, activities and picture-perfect views.”

Also commenting on the launch of the new route, Miami International Airport’s Director and CEO, Lester Sola, said,

“We applaud Frontier for its robust and ongoing expansion of flights at MIA. Jamaica generates a total of more than half a million passengers to and from MIA annually, which makes it our 13th busiest market. We look forward to welcoming even more of those passengers back to our airport, thanks to this additional service to Montego Bay by Frontier.”

Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett, added,

“With pent-up demand for travel surfacing, there could not be a better time to launch this new nonstop service from Miami to Montego Bay, the thriving tourist capital of Jamaica. We are happy to welcome Frontier and its passengers to our island which will only augur well for our arrivals and earnings.”
