Frontier Airlines will launch new nonstop service to Cancun from Baltimore, Boston, Detroit and Minneapolis. Today, the carrier also announced three new nonstop routes from Tampa to Bloomington, Illinois, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Columbus, Ohio.
On Thursday (December 16, 2021), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of four new routes to Cancun in Mexico. From today, the carrier will offer new daily nonstop service to Cancun from Boston (BOS) and Minneapolis (MSP), as well as three weekly flights from Detroit (DTW). Starting tomorrow (December 17th), the carrier will launch four weekly Cancun flights from Baltimore (BWI). Frontier will also add service to Cancun from Columbus, Ohio (CMH) and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina on January 21st and January 22nd, 2022, respectively. With the added service, Frontier Airlines will offer 21 nonstop Cancun routes this winter, more than any other U.S. airline.
In Thursday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Commercial, Daniel, Schurz, said,
“We’re excited to grow our robust Cancun network with four new nonstop routes launching this week from Baltimore, Boston, Detroit and Minneapolis. Frontier has rapidly expanded its international service and continues to identify new opportunities to stimulate tourism demand with low fares and convenient flights. We now offer the most nonstop Cancun routes of any U.S. airline this winter, and we look forward to continuing this growth story with flights from Columbus and Raleigh beginning in Jan. 2022.”
To celebrate the launch of the new Cancun routes, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares from only $79 (roundtrip purchase not required). To qualify for the low fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 22, 2021 for travel on select days from January 6th through March 9, 2022. Blackout dates include January 13-17 and February 18-22, 2022, and a seven day advance purchase is required.
In a separate press release today (December 16, 2021), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of new service from Tampa, Florida (TPA) to Green Bay, Wisconsin (GRB), Bloomington, Illinois (MBI) and Columbus, Ohio (CMH). Twice-weekly service to Green Bay starts today, while two weekly flights to Bloomington begin tomorrow (December 17th). Frontier will also launch three weekly flights between Tampa and Columbus from December 17, 2021. To celebrate the launch of the new Tampa routes, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares from only $49 (the previously mentioned fare rules apply).
Also speaking on the carrier’s Tampa expansion, Frontier’s Daniel Schurz said,
