Frontier Airlines Begins Service From Tampa to Cancun, Adds Five Destinations From Raleigh-Durham

Frontier Airlines has today launched new service between Tampa and Cancun with four weekly flights. This week, the carrier also added service from Raleigh-Durham to Cincinnati, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Detroit and Newburgh/Stewart New York.

On Friday (May 27, 2022), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of new service between Tampa (TPA) and Cancun (CUN), which will operate four times weekly. In celebration of the new route launch, the carrier is offering introductory one-way fares from only $99. To qualify for the promotional fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on May 31, 2022 for travel on select days from June 1st through June 29, 2022. A 3-day advance purchase is required but roundtrip travel is not required.


In Friday’s announcement, Daniel Schurz, said


“We are excited to launch service from Tampa to Cancun, one of the most popular vacation destinations in Mexico. With this new service, we now offer nonstop flights to a total of 25 destinations from TPA, along with connecting options to a wide variety of cities across our network.”

In a separate press release on Friday (May 27th), Frontier Airlines announced the addition of five new destinations from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) including service to Cincinnati, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Detroit and Newburgh/Stewart, New York. Celebrating the new destinations from RDU, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares from $69.

Commenting on the new service from Raleigh-Durham, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Director – Corporate Communications, Jennifer de la Cruz, said,


“We are excited to again expand our service offering from Raleigh-Durham. We now offer nonstop flights to a total of 22 destinations from RDU, along with connecting options to a wide variety of cities across our network. We offer more nonstop routes from Raleigh-Durham than any other airline and even more ultra-low fare flight options for area residents.”


Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Michael Landguth, added,


“Frontier’s expansion at RDU brings more flights and affordable fares to the destinations our guests want to visit. We appreciate Frontier’s continued investment and the increased options they are bringing to the Research Triangle market.”
