On Monday (July 12, 2021), flydubai announced an expansion of their European network with new service to Salzburg, Austria starting July 15th and resumed flights to Naples from July 31, 2021. Flights to both Salzburg and Naples will be offered four times weekly. Naples flights will be operated within the recently established quarantine-free travel corridor between the UAE and Italy. Customers must provide a negative COVID-19 test result at check-in taken no longer than 48 hours prior to departure and upon arrival in Italy, all travelers over the age of two will be required to take a rapid antigen test.

In Monday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidalla, said,

“We are excited to connect Salzburg to the UAE with direct airlinks for the first time which will also offer passengers from the neighbouring region a more comfortable and convenient travel option. We continue to grow our operations in Europe and with the resumption of flights to Naples flydubai is able to offer greater choice this summer. We are seeing steady growth in passenger traffic as more countries ease travel restrictions. We will continue to grow our network in the months ahead.”

Flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Salzburg International Airport (SZG) and Naples International Airport (NAP) will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 15th and July 31st, respectively.

Both routes will be codeshared with Emirates offering seamless connections via Dubai to 168 destinations on the networks of both carriers including service to Australia, China, the Indian Ocean, Japan, South Asia and the United States. flydubai currently offers service to over 95 destinations, including summer seasonal service to Batumi (Georgia), Bodrum and Trabzon (Turkey), Mykonos and Santorini (Greece), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and Tivat (Montenegro). Recently, the airline also announced the start of service to Ankara (Turkey), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Warsaw (Poland).
