The airline will become the first Dubai-based carrier to offer direct flights to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, with three weekly flights starting February 20th. The addition of Minsk expands flydubai’s network to over 70 destinations.
On Wednesday (February 3, 2021), flydubai announced the launch of three weekly flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Minsk National Airport (MSQ) in Belarus from February 20, 2021. flydubai will become the only Dubai-based carrier to offer direct service to Minsk, the capital of Belarus and the new route expands the airline’s network to over 70 destinations. flydubai has been steadily increasing their network with the recent start of flights to destinations including Colombo, Doha, Istanbul, the Maldives, Grozny, Malta, Salzburg and Tel Aviv. In Wednesday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Executive officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said,
“Minsk is a new destination to join our network and highlights our commitment to open previously underserved markets. We now operate flights to 72 destinations, more than 40 of which did not previously have direct air links to Dubai or were not served by a UAE national carrier from Dubai.”
Also commenting on the new route, flydubai’s Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce, Jeyhun Efendi added,
“We are pleased to be the first Dubai-based airline to operate direct flights between Dubai and Minsk. flydubai offers passengers convenient connections and an opportunity to travel to 155 destinations through Dubai’s international travel hub. We offer convenient and reliable travel services to our passengers whether they choose to travel in Business Class or Economy Class. All our passengers can expect a comfortable onboard travel experience. We look forward to welcoming our first passengers on our flights to Minsk.”
Minsk is the capital of Belarus, which is located between Lithuania, Poland and Russia. The city offers a rich history and beautiful landscapes which serve as the perfect backdrop for adventure and outdoor activities. Emirates will codeshare on the Minsk route offering seamless connections via Dubai to 155 destinations on the flydubai and Emirates network with onward service to Australia, China, the Indian ocean, Japan, South Asia and the U.S.
