flydubai is expanding their European network with the launch of new service to Budapest and Ljubljana, becoming the first UAE airline to provide direct connections to Slovenia.
On Sunday (June 13, 2021), flydubai announced the launch of three weekly flights to Ljubljana from September 24th and four weekly flights to Budapest starting September 30, 2021. The carrier becomes the first UAE airline to offer direct service to Slovenia, as they expand their European network. Flights from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (LJU) will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while flights to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In Sunday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said,
“As demand for travel continues to increase, Budapest and Ljubljana are welcome additions to our growing network. With more countries lifting restrictions on international travel, we look forward to providing passengers with more options for travel this year following the launch of our wide range of summer destinations.”
Also commenting on the airline’s European network expansion, flydubai’s Senior Vice President – Commercial Operations and E-commerce, Jeyhun Efendi, added,
“We are pleased to see our network in Europe grow further with the start of operations to Budapest and Ljubljana. These destinations have much to offer and give travellers the chance to explore new places that will help stimulate flows of travel and tourism, particularly after a time when our customers haven’t been able to travel as much as they would have liked. Passengers travelling from these destinations will also have the opportunity to explore Dubai and beyond on our network.”
Budapest is a popular leisure destinations offering impressive architecture, numerous museums and galleries, as well as their famous thermal baths. The Hungarian capital is situated on both banks of the Danube river and can be explored by boat, bus, bike or foot. The Slovenian capital of Ljubljana is a young and vibrant city and is known as one of the greenest capitals in Europe. The Ljubljanica River flows along the city center where cafes offer terrace seating, inviting visitors to take a peaceful rest during their city walks. Along with great dining options, the city offers many museums and cultural attractions.
Emirates will codeshare on the Budapest and Ljubljana routes, offering seamless connections via Dubai to 168 destinations on both airlines’ networks to destinations in Australia, Chine, the Indian Ocean, Japan, South Asia and the U.S.
