Flydubai Launches Free Global COVID-19 Medical Coverage for all Passengers

Flydubai announced on Tuesday that customers booking flights for travel between September 1st and November 30, 2020 will automatically receive free global COVID-19 cover. The coverage remains valid for 31 days after the first flight on the customer’s itinerary.

On Tuesday (September 1st, 2020), flydubai announced that all customers who book tickets for travel from September 1st through November 30, 2020, will automatically receive global COVID-19 cover. The service will cover a passenger's medical expenses and quarantine costs if they are diagnosed with COVID-19 during their trip and for 31 days after the first flight on their itinerary. The policy will cover medical expenses up to €150,000 and quarantine costs up to €100 daily for 14 days. In Tuesday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidalla said,


“The safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority. The new COVID-19 cover we are offering to our passengers will encourage more people to travel with ease of mind knowing they will be looked after at every step of their journey. We see the demand for travel starting to increase as more countries gradually lift restrictions on international travel. Safeguarding the passenger journey with added precautions and enhanced procedures will help to stimulate the flow of trade and tourism globally.”


The coverage will apply to all tickets purchased through the flydubai website, mobile app, Customer Centre, Travel Shops, the Holidays by flydubai portal, travel agents or any of the carrier’s travel partners.
