From November 25, 2022, Fiji Airways will offer twice weekly nonstop service between Nadi and Vancouver, their 20th direct international route. The carrier will also be leading a trade delegation on a one-off promotional flight to Vancouver on August 9, 2022.
On Tuesday (July 5, 2022), Fiji Airways announced the launch of new direct twice weekly service on Mondays and Fridays between Nadi and Vancouver, Canada starting November 25, 2022. With the new route, the carrier expands their international network to 20 nonstop destinations. To promote the new Vancouver service, the carrier will be leading a trade delegation on a one-off promotional flight on August 9, 2022 to engage with industry experts and their Canadian partners. Fijians can purchase return tickets on the promotional flight from FJD $1,099 (US $497), while Canadian can book the one-off flight to Nadi and return via Los Angeles or San Francisco from CAD $599.
In Tuesday’s route announcment, Fiji Airways’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen, said,
“This is a very exciting development as we continue to explore ways to maximize returns not just for Fiji Airways but for the tourism industry and the Fijian economy. Canada represents a new market with immense potential for tourism, trade and of course re-connecting Fijian families. The Fijian diaspora in Canada is approximately 80,000 – people who have not been able to see their loved ones for two years and are eager to fly home. Fiji Airways now provides them with a more convenient means to do just that.
“Returning to the skies doesn’t just mean resuming existing routes. If we are to strengthen ourselves and grow as a business, we must invest in new markets and solidify our networks. Vancouver was the ideal choice for us. Our new route is strategically timed to offer Canadians an escape from the cold winter to a beautiful Fijian paradise, promising warm tropical weather, world class hospitality by our tourism sector, excellent in-flight service with our cabin crew and a comfortable modern fleet of aircraft.”
Once the Vancouver-Nadi route starts on November 25, 2022, the carrier will offer a limited number of introductory return fares from CAD $599. Additionally, Canadian travelers can connect with Fiji Airways to four major destinations in Australia and three in New Zealand at no extra cost. A limited number of seats at introductory return fares for Fijian travelers to Vancouver will start at FJD $1,299 (US $587).
