Etihad Airways has welcomed a new Boeing 787-Dreamliner which touched down in Abu Dhabi on Friday, October 13, 2023. This is one of four 787s the carrier will take delivery of this year.
On Friday (October 13, 2023), Etihad Airways announced the delivery of a new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, one of four new 787s the carrier will receive this year, with three 787-9s scheduled for delivery by the end of 2023. Once the aircraft is thoroughly checked by the airline’s engineering team, the new 787-10 is scheduled to enter passenger revenue service on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
In Friday’s delivery announcement, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Antonoaldo Neves, said,
“The arrival of our latest 787 Dreamliner underlines our passion to grow this year by enhancing the quality of our customer experience and the reach of our network. This is all part of our vision 2030 supporting our growth as underlined by the new destinations to Osaka, Copenhagen and Dusseldorf we began operating two weeks ago.”
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner Family offers a 25 percent reduction in fuel use and the associated emissions compared to previous generation aircraft of similar size. Friday’s 787-10 delivery took place exactly three years to the day from when the carrier took their last delivery of the type on October 13, 2020.
