Etihad Airways will add four weekly frequencies between Abu Dhabi and New York-JFK, expanding their offer on the route to 11 weekly frequencies for winter 2022/23. The new flights will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
On Monday (August 22, 2022), Etihad Airways announced the addition of four weekly flights on the route between Abu Dhabi and New York for winter 2022/23, for a total of 11 weekly frequencies. The additional flights will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complementing existing daily Airbus A350 service. With the expanded service, Etihad will offer more choice and flexibility between Abu Dhabi and New York, just in time for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi from November 17th through 20th, 2022.
In Monday’s announcment, Etihad Airways’ Vice President of Network Planning and Alliances, Alex Featherstone, said,
“Etihad is enhancing its schedule this winter to provide even more options for our guests across key business and leisure destinations in our global network. Our New York service continues to perform strongly, and having already experienced record passenger demand this summer, Etihad is excited to be investing further in this market by building on frequency levels ahead of the peak winter travel period.”
Travelers will also benefit from Etihad’s global network of 70 destinations, especially in the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia, as well as seamless onward connections to 46 destinations throughout the Americas via new York with Etihad’s codeshare partner JetBlue. Etihad guests traveling to New York will also enjoy the convenience of Etihad’s U.S. pre-clearance facility, the only U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility in the Middle East. For winter 2022/23, in addition to 11 weekly flights to New York, Etihad will also offer daily service to Chicago and Washington D.C., for over 25 weekly U.S. flights, with over 50 percent more premium seats versus last winter.
