On Monday (December 14, 2020), Emirates announced they will resume service to Istanbul from December 21, 2020. The route between Dubai and Istanbul will be operated daily and serviced with a Boeing 777-300ER. With the resumption of service to Istanbul, Emirates’ European network expands to 31 destinations, enabling guests convenient one-stop connections via Dubai to the carrier’s wide global network. Emirates flight EK 121 will depart Dubai at 14:20, arriving in Istanbul at 18:20, while the return flight, EK 122, departs Istanbul at 20:05 and arrives in Dubai at 01:20 the following day.

The airline has partnered with Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) on a promotion which offers a complimentary stay to all Emirates’ guests at the JW Marriott Dubai. The offer is available for customers visiting Dubai from December 6, 2020 through February 28, 2021. Emirates Economy Class customers are eligible for a free one-night stay, while First and Business Class guests can enjoy a two night stay, courtesy of Dubai Tourism. The JW Marriott Dubai is conveniently located near popular attractions including the Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Opera.

Dubai is one of the most popular global destinations, welcoming 16.7 million visitors in 2019. From sun-soaked beaches to heritage activities and world-class hospitality and leisure facilities, Dubai has something to offer for all guests. Additionally, Dubai was one of the world’s first cities to receive the ‘Safe Travels’ stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for their effective measures to ensure the health and safety of visitors.

Emirates guests purchasing tickets for travel on or before June 30, 2021 will enjoy generous rebooking terms and options if their plans change due to unexpected COVID-19 related flight or travel restrictions, including the ability to change travel dates or extend ticket validity for up to two years. The carrier has implemented a comprehensive set of measures at every step of the guest journey to ensure the health and wellbeing of their guests and team members. Emirates also distributes complimentary hygiene kits which include masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes.

Additionally, Emirates has launched an industry-first multi-risk travel insurance and COVID-19 cover, allowing customers to travel with confidence and greater peace of mind. The complimentary coverage is available on all tickets purchased from December 1st, 2020 and includes COVID-19 medical cover, provisions for personal accidents during travel, winter sports cover, loss of personal belongings and trip disruptions. Emirates’ guests requiring a COVID-19 PCR test prior to departure from Dubai can receive special pricing at clinics across Dubai by presenting their ticket or boarding pass. Home testing is also available, with results in 48 hours.
