Emirates and airBaltic Sign Codeshare Agreement

Emirates has signed a codeshare agreement with airBaltic offering customers enhanced connectivity to and from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland. AirBaltic’s customers will also benefit from seamless connectivity via Dubai on Emirates global network.


Emirates has signed a codeshare agreement with airBaltic to offer customers enhanced connectivity to/from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland. The codeshare partnership will open new travel opportunities and offer Emirates’ customers convenient access to the Baltic Sea region. airBaltic customers’ will also benefit from seamless access to Emirates’ extensive network, via Dubai. On Thursday (November 25, 2021) Emirates announced the signing of a new codeshare with AirBaltic which will enhance connectivity in the Baltic sea Region. Emirates’ guests will enjoy seamless connections to destinations in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland, while AirBaltic’s guests will enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity via Dubai on Emirates’ extensive global network. Under the agreement, Emirates will place their ‘EK’ marketing code on airBaltic flights operated between Dubai and Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), Vilnius (Lithuania), and between Riga and Helsinki (Finland). airBaltic will place their ‘BT’ code on Emirates’ routes from Dubai to Bangkok (Thailand) and Jakarta (Indonesia).


In Thursday’s codeshare announcement, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, said,


“We’re very pleased to announce a new partnership with airBaltic, the leading airline in the Baltics, which enables us to offer Emirates customers even more travel choices and connectivity in the Baltic region. It will also open up Emirates’ exciting network of global destinations to more travellers from the Baltics. We look forward to the start of a successful partnership.”


Also commenting on the new partnership, AirBaltic’s President and CEO, Martin Gauss, said,


“Emirates is a truly global connectivity provider, and we are excited to start a new partnership alongside direct flights between Riga and Dubai which we commenced in September. The new partnership will enable our passengers to reach new exciting destinations in Asia, Australia and beyond.”


Customers can book travel under the new codeshare partnership from November 29, 2021. Emirates currently has codeshare agreements with 22 airline partners and two rail companies, as well as interline agreements with over 115 airlines and rail companies.
