easyJet is launching 12 new UK domestic routes this summer including first-time service between Belfast City and London Gatwick and a return to East Midlands and Leeds Bradford, with routes previously operated by Stobart Air.
On Thursday (June 17, 2021), easyJet announced the launch of 12 new UK domestic routes, giving Brits more options to reconnect or take a break this summer. The carrier will offer flights between Belfast City and London Gatwick for the first time and return to East Midlands and Leeds Bradford, taking up new routes previously served by Stobart Air-operated Aer Lingus Regional. easyJet has also added 60,000 seats to existing routes from Belfast to Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Additionally, through the airline’s ‘Protection Promise’, customers will enjoy added flexibility with fee-free flight date and destination changes up to two hours prior to departure.
In Thursday’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, said,
“We know our customers can’t wait to be reunited with friends and family or to explore the UK so these additional routes today should prove popular and will further strengthen our UK domestic network providing customers with even more choice. We were sorry to see the news about Stobart Air and are so pleased to continue to provide key regional connectivity from Belfast International Airport to East Midlands and Leeds Bradford airports, as well as launching easyJet operations for the very first time from Belfast City Airport to London Gatwick.
“We also know it is important to our customers to be reunited with loved ones overseas so we continue to urge the UK government to add more countries to the Green list – which can be done safely – to make this possible.”
To celebrate the launch of the 12 new routes, easyJet is offering one-way fares starting from only £14.99 including taxes. The airline has also placed 60,000 seats on sale across existing routes including flights between Belfast International and Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
easyJet carries nearly 100 million passengers annually on around 1,000 routes to over 150 airports in 35 countries. The 25 plus year old low-cost carrier is dedicated to innovation and leads the industry in digital, web, engineering and operational efficiencies. easyJet was named “Britain’s Most Admired Company” in the transport sector for 2020, based on the longest running annual corporate reputation study in the UK.
