On Tuesday (March 21, 2023), easyJet announced the addition of 140,000 seats on routes from Belfast International and Belfast City airports to London Gatwick, London Luton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester. Fares are now on sale from Belfast International to London Luton and Glasgow from £23.99, and to Manchester from £22.99. The additional seats, previously served by Flybe will maintain domestic connectivity and help meet increasing demand. From June 26, 2023 the carrier is also launching new routes from Belfast City to London Luton and Manchester, with tickets now on sale. The new routes will operate year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. easyJet will also base an aircraft in Belfast City overnight, which will enable a convenient new 06:00 departure to London Gatwick, meaning the airline will now offer up to four daily departures between Belfast City and London. easyJet operates more seats on domestic flights than any other UK carrier.

In Tuesday’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, said,

“We know how important it is to support UK connectivity so people can visit friends and loved ones, do business, and explore more of what the UK has to offer, so we are delighted to be providing customers with even more direct and convenient domestic connections that we know will prove popular for business and leisure travellers alike, all with great value fares and friendly service.

“easyJet offers more seats on UK domestic routes than any other carrier and we’re further strengthening our network from Northern Ireland today, by offering even more seats on key domestic routes and launching two new routes to serve customers travelling between Belfast City and the major hubs of London and Manchester.

“And, with fares from just £21.99 and Easter around the corner, now is a great time to book with easyJet for a last-minute spring break or summer getaway and we look forward to taking even more of our customers away this summer.”

easyJet will also add an eighth Airbus A320 Family aircraft at their Belfast International Airport base this summer and launch two new summer routes to the popular Greek island of Rhodes, as well as to Antalya in Türkiye. In total, the airline will now offer service on 30 routes to nine countries from their Belfast International base.

easyJet serves 19 UK airports, offering nearly 500 routes to more than 135 destinations to Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The airline carries around 70 million passengers annually to over 150 airports across 35 countries. easyJet has a fleet of over 300 aircraft, and over 300 million Europeans live within an hour’s drive of an airport served by easyJet.
