Effective September 15, 2024, Till Streichert will assume the role as Chief Financial Officer of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. Mr. Streichert currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Amadeus IT Group.
On Monday (May 6, 2024), Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced the appointment of Till Streichert (50) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a three-year term effective September 15, 2024. In his new role, Mr. Streichert will be responsible for the company’s Finance Division, including areas such as Controlling & Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, Corporate Taxes, Financial Services and Mergers & Acquisitions. Following the departure of the company’s current CFO, Remco Steenbergen, on May 7th, CFO duties will initially be performed by Executive Board member Michael Niggemann. Till Streichert currently serves as the CFO of the Amadeus IT Group.
In Monday’s announcement, Deutsche Lufthansa AG’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Karl-Ludwig Kley, said,
“In Till Streichert we are securing a reputed and internationally experienced financial specialist to serve as the new CFO of the Lufthansa Group. Till Streichert brings outstanding financial expertise from a wide range of companies and sectors to his new position; and he convinced our Supervisory Board on a personal level, too. Given the continuing challenges posed by the competitive environment worldwide, having a CFO like Till Streichert who is extensively experienced in the capital markets is of vital importance to the Lufthansa Group.”
Also commenting on the new CFO appointment, Deutsche Lufthansa AG’s Chairman of the Executive Board & CEO, Carsten Spohr, added,
“With his extensive expertise and experience, Till Streichert will be an excellent addition to our Executive Board. His arrival this September will complete the recomposition of our top management team, and we look forward already to a good collaboration with him in both professional and personal terms. He is taking on a substantial responsibility at our company in what remain challenging times.”
In addition to his current role as CFO of the Madrid-based Amadeus IT Group, Till Streichert has held a range of global financial and executive management positions with a number of companies over the last two decades, including T-Mobile in the UK, the Boston Consulting Group, Vodaphone Romania and Vodacom South Africa. Mr. Streichert holds a doctorate in philosophy and a master’s degree in political sciences and philosophy from Leibniz University Hannover. Additionally, he completed the Executive Program at Singularity University in Mountain View, California in 2018.
