Delta Air Lines has named Pamela Fletcher as the carrier’s newest Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, becoming the industry’s only C-Suite level CSO. Ms. Fletcher will assume her new role on February 1st, 2022, and will report to company CEO, Ed Bastian.
On Wednesday (December 15, 2021), in a memo to employees, Delta Air Lines’ CEO, Ed Bastian, announced the appointment of Pamela Fletcher as the company’s newest Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) effective February 1st, 2022. Fletcher will join the Delta Leadership Committee and become the airline industry’s only C-Suite level CSO, reporting directly to the company’s CEO, Ed Bastian. Additionally, Delta has announced the promotion of Amelia DeLuca to Vice President – Sustainability, reporting to Pam Fletcher. Over the last year, Ms. DeLuca has led Delta’s sustainability efforts including the securing of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) agreements, and setting science-based emissions targets.
Pam Fletcher joins Delta from General Motors, serving most recently as Vice President of Global Innovation, where she was responsible for developing and growing new businesses, disrupting established industries, entering new markets and attracting new customers. Previously, she served as GM’s Vice President of Electric Vehicles, where she led the teams developing electric and autonomous vehicles. Ms. Fletcher has over two decades of leadership experience in other automotive and transportation roles. She earned a Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan and Wayne State University in Detroit. A native of Ohio, Fletcher and her husband Larry are excited to relocate to Atlanta as she joins the Delta family.
