Delta Air Lines Appoints Alex Antilla as Vice President, Latin America

Delta Air Lines has appointed Alex Antilla as Vice President, Latin America, based in Santiago, Chile. In his new role, Mr. Antilla will oversee Delta’s business and customer experience throughout Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

On Thursday (August 11, 2022), Delta Air Lines announced the appointment of Alex Antilla as Vice President – Latin America, based in Santiago, Chile. In his new role, Antilla will be responsible for overseeing the carrier’s business and guest experience throughout Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Mr. Antilla will also be responsible for Delta’s partnership with LATAM Airlines Group (pending U.S. DOT approval) and Aeromexico. Alex Antilla has been with Delta for 16 years, holding various roles in the trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic and Latin American regions. Prior to his new role, he served as Managing Director – Latin America Pricing and Revenue Management, where he led a team focused on optimizing and maximizing profit for Delta’s Latin America portfolio. He previously held roles in Network Planning, Sales and Alliances, and also worked extensively on several of the airline’s joint ventures.


In Thursday’s announcement, Delta’s President – International, Alain Bellemare, said,


“As Delta continues to expand its international network and product offering to support the growing demand for travel, Alex’s diverse experience will be pivotal in leveraging opportunities, delivering the Delta Difference for our customers, and leading the best employees in the business. With Alex’s leadership, we will also strengthen our partnerships with LATAM and Aeromexico, providing the best network and customer experience throughout Latin America.”


Also commenting on his new role as Delta’s Vice President for Latin America, Alex Antilla said,

This outstanding team is poised to build a bright future and capitalize on the great opportunities in this important market.”


Alex Antilla holds an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from The Goizueta Business School at Emory University. During his career with Delta, Mr. Antilla has been based in Minneapolis, Tokyo, Atlanta and Amsterdam. He has also served on the boards of Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations focused on family homelessness, and the provision of school supplies and sports equipment for needy children in various countries worldwide.
