Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of their 10th brand new Airbus A321neo from Airbus’ Hamburg facility, marking the carrier’s 18th ‘eco-plane’, delivering a 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption and a nearly 50 percent smaller noise footprint.
On Tuesday (April 12, 2022), Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced that they have received their 10th new Airbus A321neo which was delivered from Airbus’ Hamburg facility earlier this month. The aircraft is CEB’s 18th neo ‘eco-plane’, joining the carrier’s young fleet which also includes widebody A330neos. Cebu Pacific's A330neos are known as ‘the greenest aircraft in Asia’, due to their 459-seat capacity, resulting in the lowest carbon footprint per passenger per kilometer. The Airbus A321neo delivers a 20 percent improvement in fuel efficiency, as well as a noise footprint that is nearly 50 percent smaller than previous generation models.
In Tuesday’s announcment, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Strategy Officer, Alex Reyes, said,
“Our shift to the more fuel-efficient NEO engine aircraft not only supports our sustainability strategy, but also enables us to continue offering our trademark low fares for everyJuan. The arrival is timely because we see positive developments indicating recovery. We are continuously ramping up our domestic network and are preparing for more international destinations to ease restrictions for leisure travelers.”
CEB’s new Airbus A321neo features sleek and lightweight Recaro seats with yellow and sky-blue details, the carrier’s colors. The seats also have A/C compatible USB ports for recharging personal devices onboard.
Cebu Pacific (CEB) currently operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines with 34 destinations, along with 17 international destinations. The carrier has received a 7/7 star rating from airlineratings.com for their multi-layered COVID-19 health and safety protocols. All Cebu Pacific crewmembers have been vaccinated, and are required to undergo regular antigen testing. CEB operates one of the youngest fleets in the world with 75 aircraft, including 22 Airbus A320ceos, six A320neos, seven A321ceos, 10 A321neos, six A330ceos, two A330neos, 14 ATR 72-600s, six ATR 72-500s and two dedicated ATR freighters.
