On Tuesday (August 17, 2021), Brussels Airlines announced the launch of at-home document checking and an interactive travel map to help reduce travel complexity. From August 18, 2021, guests traveling to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece will be able to have all necessary travel documents checked remotely. Eligible customers will receive an invitation to upload their documents via e-mail six, three and one day prior to departure, thereby reducing queues at airport check-in counters. Once the documents are uploaded, an encrypted email will be sent to a Lufthansa Group service center for checking and approval. Once approved, customers will receive a confirmation e-mail so they can check-in online.

Additionally, in partnership with Sherpa, Brussels Airlines has launched an interactive map which provides all relevant destination information and an overview of required travel documents. The goal of the map is to give customers a clear overview of the travel possibilities throughout Europe and beyond. With a simple tick box travelers can indicate their vaccination status and see the various requirements and restrictions by country. The interactive map can be accessed via the airline’s website or by clicking here.
