On Wednesday (December 16, 2020), Brussels Airlines launched their summer 2021 holiday offer with increased service to popular destinations and all new service to Bari in Puglia, Italy. Since Belgians traditionally start planning their summer holidays in December and January, tickets for summer 2021 travel can now be booked on the airline’s website or through travel agencies.

From May through September, Brussels Airlines will offer twice-weekly service to Bari, in the southern Italian region of Puglia, which will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Outside of Bari, visitors can explore the Puglia region. The area is known as the heel of the boot-shaped peninsula and offers an azure blue coastline and breathtaking landscapes. Puglia is the largest region in Italy for olive oil production and offers endless vistas of olive groves. Holidaymakers can enjoy the baroque buildings of Lecce, known as the Florence of the south, the magnificent white town of Ostuni, La Grotta Delle Poesia, Trulli and more.

Commenting on the carrier’s summer 2021 schedule, Brussels Airlines’ Head of Network Planning, David Lyssens, said,

“2020 was a very difficult year for tourism and aviation. We hope that in 2021, we will be able to expand our world again as we look forward to start travelling again. For our holidaymakers, we have already added a nice selection of summer destinations to our portfolio, meeting the demand we expect in the market. With this, we show that we remain a strong player in the leisure market.”

In addition to the new service to Bari, Brussels Airlines will increase service to popular leisure destinations from March 2021. For example, the carrier will offer several weekly flights to the Greek islands Corfu, Kos, Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes and Zakynthos, as well as the Spanish islands of Ibiza, Las Palmas, Mallorca and Tenerife.

For guests wishing to visit Italy or Portugal, the carrier will offer several weekly flights to Catania, Florence, Naples, Olbia and Palermo, along with twice-daily flights to Lisbon and Porto, as well as daily service to Faro. Additionally, the airline will offer twice-weekly service to Dubrovnik and one weekly fight to Split in Croatia next summer. Naturally, the carrier will continue to offer service to their usual network destinations.
