British Airways has added Wren Healthcare to a growing list of discounted COVID-19 testing providers for customers on ba.com. The new provider offers at-home PCR testing administered by a specialist for £129.
On Tuesday (June 8, 2021), British Airways announced the addition of Wren Healthcare to their growing list of discounted testing partners. The new provider offers at-home PCR testing administered in the comfort of the customer’s home by a specialist for a reduced rate of £129. Once the PCR test is taken, the specialist will deliver the sample directly to the lab, and customers will receive their results within 24 hours. If a customer prefers to visit a clinic to have their sample taken, they can do so for £99. British Airways offers their guests a wide range of other testing options starting at only £33 for antigen tests and £40.41 for PCR tests. T he options include in-clinic testing, at airport testing, at-home testing with a specialist and at-home testing via the postal service. The airline continues to negotiate with testing providers to deliver reduced prices for their guests.
In Tuesday’s announcement, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, Tom Stevens, said,
“We are committed to exploring ways to make sure that our customers have access to affordable tests that suit their needs. We know that sourcing and sending PCR tests away shortly before travel can make people anxious. We are pleased to have found and negotiated a reduced price option for those who would prefer to take a test in the comfort of their own home or in a clinic, safe in the knowledge they will be delivered straight to a lab for rapid and reliable results.”
It should be noted that British Airways has negotiated a £40 discount for Wren Healthcare’s at-home specialist PCR testing by specialist, as the regular price is £169. The airline also continues to trial other testing technologies to help facilitate the opening of travel. As previously reported, British Airways was the first airline in the world to trial Canary Global’s Pelican Ultra Rapid COVID-19 test which displays a result in 25 seconds. The carrier is currently inviting flight and cabin crew members to take the Pelican test as they explore how it can play a role for passengers.
