Bonza has today put their Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport base on sale to nine destinations. Customers can now book tickets on the new routes via the Fly Bonza app with one-way fares starting from $49-$89 per person.
On Thursday (February 23, 2023), Bonza announced the start of ticket sales from their Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport base to nine destinations. Tickets are now available for booking on the Fly Bonza app with one-way fares starting from $49 to $89 per person. Additionally, the carrier has opened ticket sales to/from Toowoomba Wellcamp and Tamworth, for a total of 12 new routes to 11 destinations added to the Fly Bonza app. Today’s news comes as Bonza continues to get wheels up across their initial network of 27 routes to 17 destinations, including inaugural service to Victoria on Tuesday (2/21) and the first flight between Sunshine Coast and Townsville on Wednesday (2/22). Tomorrow, customers will also see the launch of service to/from Rockhampton. Bonza’s inaugural flight from Melbourne will take place on March 30, 2023.
In Thursday’s announcement, Bonza’s Chief Commercial Officer, Carly Povey, said,
“Today is a huge day for Aussie travellers as we deliver on our promise to make air travel accessible to the many, not the few. Today millions more Aussies have the chance to book a low cost flight to see a loved one or explore their own backyard. As a proud Melbournite, I’m very excited to have the opportunity to fly directly to regional destinations to catch some winter sun in Queensland or explore the wine region of Mildura. The routes on sale today use our Melbourne based crew and aircraft including our fourth plane, Malc, named after a dear legend who recently passed away.”

Also commenting on the launch of Bonza ticket sales from the airport, Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport’s Chief of Aviation, Jim Parashos, said,
“Melbourne Airport is proud to be the only capital city destination on Bonza’s launch network as well as the airline’s second hub. Having Bonza’s brand new aircraft and crew based in Melbourne is a huge win for the local economy and means more jobs for the state’s aviation and tourism sectors. Many of the routes going on sale today are not currently flown and will give Victorians more travel options while also making it easier for regional Australians to visit the nation’s capital of food, sport and culture.”
Bonza is Australia’s new, and only independent low-cost carrier (LCC), enabling Australians to explore more of their own backyard at low prices. The airline currently operates a fleet of five brand new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, which will grow to eight by the end of the first year of operations. Bonza’s initial route map includes 27 routes to 17 destinations. Over 90 percent of Bonza routes are not served by any airline, and 96 percent are not served by a low-cost carrier. The lowest fares are now available for booking on the FlyBonza App.
