On Thursday (November 19, 2020), Canary Islands-based Binter announced the launch of an additional weekly return flight between Gran Canaria and Nouakchott, Mauritania. The new service has been made possible due to the resumption of flights between the countries two weeks ago and will help stimulate the economic recovery in both territories. Binter already has one weekly return flight between flight between the two cities which operates on Wednesdays. The additional frequency will depart Gran Canaria at 12:30 p.m. and land in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott at 2:20 p.m. The return flight departs Mauritania at 3:05 p.m. and lands in Gran Canaria at 4:55 p.m.

Guests traveling to Mauritania must complete a public health form to be provided to authorities upon arrival and non-Mauritanian passengers must also carry a negative PCR test result which was completed within 72 hours of departure. Binter reminds all customers to review the latest regulations from the governments of departure and arrival countries prior to booking. The route will be serviced with a state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2, the quietest, cleanest and most-efficient single aisle regional aircraft in the sky. The aircraft’s spacious two by two seating provides an exceptional level of comfort and the plane is also equipped with HEPA filters that filter out 99.9 percent of airborne particulates as the air is refreshed every two to three minutes. Since the onset of the global pandemic, Binter has implemented multi-layered health and safety protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of guests and team members throughout their journey.
