On Tuesday (August 31, 2021), The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG), announced a new business partnership with Mazars, a leading international audit and advisory firm. Mazars offers comprehensive services for tax and legal advice, final audits, as well as business consulting in areas such as fixed cost and process optimization. BARIG is expanding their cross-industry network of business partners as the airline industry is facing profound changes due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. The new partnership with Mazars will offer over 100 national and international BARIG members flying to Germany extensive industry know-how, as they recover from the pandemic and beyond.

In Tuesday’s announcement, BARIG’s General Secretary, Michael Hoppe, said,

“These extraordinary and challenging times for the aviation industry and the entire world require profound and innovative measures to reshape the future. New concepts and structures must be thought through and designed to be implementable. Therefore, we are delighted to welcome Mazars as another BARIG business partner in the section of ‘Academic & Consulting.’ The company has excellent local and international expertise in assisting companies in future-oriented processes. Together with Mazars we will be planning a series of informative online sessions and talks for our BARIG members in the upcoming weeks and months.”

Also commenting on the new partnership, a Mazars Partner in Germany, Lutz Beck, said,

“With a team of experienced professionals, we assist airlines and offer them consulting services on all topics that are relevant to the airline industry. If requested, we can support them in optimizing compliance processes and restructuring. Thereby, we are using the latest technical facilities, e.g. for the analysis of vast amounts of data and process mining.”

Mazars operates in over 90 countries and territories worldwide. In Germany, the firm is represented by 94 partners and over 1,700 team members across 12 locations. The company has an annual turnover of approximately €182 million, and is currently ninth on the list of leading audit and advisory firms.

Founded in 1951, Frankfurt am Main-based BARIG (Board of Airline Representatives in Germany e.V.) represents over 100 national and international airlines in the scheduled, charter, low cost and air cargo sectors. The association works to improve conditions in the aviation industry in Germany and is the key industry contact for politics, authorities, industry and media.
