On Tuesday (March 10, 2026), Avianca announced that they will add two Airbus A330-900s, which will expand their widebody fleet to 17 aircraft.  These aircraft will be based in Colombia, representing a greater investment in the country, and reflecting the airline’s commitment to strengthening connectivity and tourism.  The new A330-900s are expected to enter service from the second half of 2026, and will be deployed on routes across the Americas.  These aircraft have a capacity of 377 seats and include the Americas Business Class experience, designed to offer an elevated onboard experience.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Avianca Group’s President, Gabriel Oliva, said,

“The addition of these Airbus A330-900s represents a critical step in our roadmap for growth in the long-haul offering.  With these aircraft, we continue to strengthen our investment and commitment to Colombia, while expanding the connectivity of the Americas with the world and strengthening the network and operational capabilities of the Abra Group.”

Avianca is part of the Abra Group, along with Gol and Wamos, operating a combined fleet of 300 aircraft.  The business units, Avianca Cargo and LifeMiles (with more than 14 million members), continue to strengthen and contribute to the strategic growth of the company.
