Austrian Airlines to Resume Weekly Service Between Vienna and Shanghai From October 2, 2020

Austrian Airlines announced on Thursday that they will resume once-weekly service between Vienna and Shanghai starting October 2, 2020. The flights will operate on Fridays and the route will be operated with a Boeing 767.

Today (September 24, 2020), Austrian Airlines announced that they will resume service from Vienna to Shanghai starting October 2, 2020. The carrier will offer once-weekly service on Fridays and hopes to add a second frequency soon. The route will be operated with a Boeing 767 and the return flight will depart Shanghai on Sundays. In Thursday’s announcement, Austrian Airlines’ Board Member, Andreas Otto, said,


“We are pleased to be able to return to China with regular passenger flights. A second weekly flight to Shanghai is on our wish list.”

With the new service to Shanghai, Austrian Airlines expands their long-haul portfolio which currently includes flights to Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. and other destinations.
