Austrian Airlines’ Supervisory Board Names Annette Mann as New Chief Executive Officer

Austrian Airlines six-member Supervisory Board has appointed Annette Mann as the carrier’s new CEO and CFO effective March 1st, 2022. Mann previously served as Head of Corporate Responsibility for the entire Lufthansa Group.

On Tuesday (February 22, 2022), the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines announced the appointment of Annette Mann as the carrier’s new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer effective March 1st, 2022. Ms. Mann previously served as the Head of Corporate Responsibility of the entire Lufthansa Group, and will now join CCO Michael Trestl and COO Francesco Sciortino on Austrian Airlines’ three-member Executive Board.


Speaking on the appointment, Chairwoman of Austrian Airlines’ six-member Supervisory Board, Christina Foerster, said,


“Michael Trestl and Francesco Sciortino managed the company excellently even in this phase, despite the ongoing pandemic of the ongoing pandemic. All the prerequisites for a good start for Annette Mann are therefore in place. With Annette Mann, Austrian Airlines will have a top manager with broad expertise at its helm. We are sure that together with the Austrian team and soon more customers, the recovery will be possible and we look forward to working together!”


Also commenting on her new role as Austrian’s CEO, Annette Mann said,


"I'm looking forward to my new task in Vienna with great enthusiasm and look forward to working with my two colleagues, the entire team and to the Austrian team spirit that is well known throughout the group.”


Annette Mann (44) has been with the Lufthansa Group for the last 18 years and has held various strategic, conceptual and operational roles. She is a business economist who grew up in Simbach on the Austrian border.


Most recently, she was responsible for Corporate Responsibility at the Lufthansa Group where she was responsible for the further development, management and implementation of the Group’s holistic sustainability program. Ms. Mann previously held various management positions within the Group including service as Head of Product Management at SWISS in Zurich. Simultaneously, she was responsible for inflight and customer service of all Group network airlines, and co-negotiated the partial sale of LSG. Additionally, Annette Mann was Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Lufthansa InTouch service center group until the end of 2020. Currently, she also sits on the Board of the Swiss Aviation Foundation for Lufthansa, is on the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa CityLine and is Charwoman of the Advisory Board of Help Alliance GmbH.
