On Thursday (September 9, 2021), Austrian Airlines announced that they are offering a comprehensive route network for business travelers for September, including over 700 weekly departures to more than 70 European destinations. With most European business destinations served daily, and in some cases up to three-times daily, Austrian Airlines provides the flexibility necessary for business travelers. Additionally, the Business Lounge Schengen and Non-Schengen lounges are now open, and the carrier has extended the tier status of Miles & More members for another year.

In Thursday’s announcement, Austrian Airlines’ COO Michael, Trestl, said,

“With our route network, private and business travelers can fly to over 70 destinations within Europe with more than 700 departures per week since the beginning of September. We also offer intercontinental flights, for example to the US, and we hope that Europeans will soon be able to enter the country. To ensure that Miles & More participants can enjoy their frequent flyer benefits, Austrian Airlines is extending their status for another year. As premium carrier, our lounges are an important part of travel comfort. In addition to the Business Lounge Schengen, the Business Lounge Non-Schengen was reopened at the beginning of September.”

Austrian Airlines also offers long-haul service to business destinations including New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Bangkok, Shanghai, Tokyo and Tel Aviv. From October, the carrier will also add service to Montreal. With the AIRail offer, customers will also enjoy intermodal connections to the Vienna Airport hub from Linz, Salzburg or Graz central station. AIRail customers can now also check their luggage for their train journey from Linz or Salzburg and proceed directly to the gate at Vienna Airport, as part of pilot test until the end of October.

In a separate press release on Thursday (September 9, 2021), Austrian Airlines announced an expansion of their summer 2022 schedule with more flights to popular holiday destinations in Greece, Iceland, Italy, Spain and Turkey. The carrier will also be offering a range of charter destinations that are currently available as scheduled flights via Austrian Holidays. Destinations include Antalya, Catania, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Keflavik and Mykonos, which were part of the charter program this year and can now be booked as regular Austrian Airlines flights for summer 2022. Flights to Palma de Mallorca, Málaga and Naples have already been changed to scheduled flights. As on all Austrian Airlines continental flights under three hours, Economy Class guests will benefit from a range of Austrian Melangerie products on these routes.

From the end of October 2021, Austrian will once again fly to warm destinations including Mauritius and the Maldives several times weekly as part of their winter 2021/22 schedule. From October 24, 2021, the carrier will also launch new service to Cancún, Mexico.
