All Nippon Airways and ITA Airways have signed a new codeshare partnership which will provide enhanced connectivity between Japan and Italy. Under the new codeshare, customers will enjoy single-ticket travel, check-in at departure airport, and through baggage.
On Friday (January 12, 2024), All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced the launch of a new codeshare partnership with ITA Airways that will enhance connectivity between Japan and Italy. Available for booking from January 17th, for travel starting January 24, 2024, ANA will place their ‘NH” code on ITA Airways’ operated flights between Tokyo-Haneda and Rome-Fiumicino, as well as to five onward destinations in Italy, including Bologna, Venice, Turin, Florence and Naples. Likewise, ITA Airways will place their ‘AZ’ code on ANA operated flights to six domestic Japanese destinations, including Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Itami, Kansai, Okinawa and Sapporo.
Guests of both airlines traveling on a codeshare itinerary will enjoy single-ticket travel, checking-in at the departure airport, and collecting their checked baggage at the final destination. Both airlines will consider adding more codeshare destinations in the near future. The new codeshare agreement will help further economic and commercial relations between Italy and Japan, allowing Italian tourists to discover the wonders of Japan, and Japanese citizens the opportunity to easily travel to Italy. Pending government approval, codeshare flights will be available for booking from January 24th across all distribution channels.
