On Thursday (May 29, 2025), American Airlines announced that TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID is now available for AAdvantage® members at select airports, including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).  Eligible AAdvantage members are now eligible to enjoy a streamlined process at TSA airport security checkpoints.  After an identity match compares a customer’s image to photos previously provided to the government, such as a passport, Global Entry or visa card, the customer will be able to move through security with ease.

In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer, Heather Garboden, said,

“We’re examining every aspect of the customer experience.  TSA Precheck® Touchless ID helps streamline our customers’ travel experience and makes travel with us even more enjoyable.  We look forward to it becoming available to even more customers in the coming months.”

In the coming months, TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID will be expanded across the system in collaboration with TSA, with a focus on American’s hub airports.  To take advantage of the expedited security option, AAdvantage members 18 and older will be prompted to opt-in by providing certain information to confirm their identity.  This includes their AAdvantage number, valid passport information, and Known Traveler Number (KTN).  Members can opt-in anytime in their AAdvantage profile on American’s website.

American Airlines’ purpose is To Care for People on Life’s Journey®.  The carrier offers thousands of daily flights to over 350 destinations in more than 60 countries. American is also a founding member of the oneworld global alliance whose member airlines serve over 900 destinations worldwide.  Shares in the American Airlines Group, Inc., trade on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol AAL and the company’s stock is included in the S&P 500.
