American Airlines Adds New Routes from Chicago and Los Angeles

American Airlines has today announced the launch of new service from Chicago to Allentown, Columbia, and Kahului, as well as from Los Angeles to Cleveland and Washington D.C.

On Thursday (January 22, 2026), American Airlines announced the launch of new routes from Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) for summer 2026. Starting in May, the carrier will launch new service from Chicago to Allentown, Pennsylvania (ABE) and Columbia, South Carolina (CAE), while service to Kahului, Hawaii (OGG) will begin in December 2026. New service from Los Angeles to Cleveland, Ohio (CLE), and Washington, D.C. will begin in April.
In Thursday’s announcement, American’s SVP – Network and Schedule Planning, Brian Znotins, said,

American’s new routes from Chicago and Los Angeles are just another way the airline is catering to all kinds of travelers with unmatched connectivity across the United States.”
