Allegiant Travel Company has announced that the company’s current President, Greg Anderson, will also become CEO, succeeding Maurice J. Gallagher who will retire September 1st. Mr. Gallagher will continue to serve as Allegiant’s Executive Chairman.
On Thursday (July 18, 2024), Allegiant Travel Company announced that Gregory C. Anderson, currently the company’s President, will also assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Maurice J. Gallagher, who is retiring on September 1st, 2024. Mr. Gallagher will continue to serve the company as Executive Chairman of the Board. Greg Anderson will also join Allegiant’s Board at that time.
In Thursday’s announcement, Allegiant's current CEO, Maurice J. Gallagher, said,

After working closely with him for the past 15 years, I have first-hand knowledge of his phenomenal leadership skills, business acumen, industry knowledge and work ethic that make him well-prepared to take on these added responsibilities. He’s incredibly well-respected within the Company and throughout the industry. In many ways, he’s already doing the job. It’s time to make it official. Our ability to internally grow talent such as Greg and his team is a core strength of our company.

Also commenting as his upcoming role as Allegiant’s CEO, Greg Anderson, said,

Greg Anderson joined Allegiant in 2010, and has held several leadership roles in the company, including Chief Financial Officer, where he was instrumental in leading the company through the global COVID-19 pandemic. As the company’s current President, he has continued to lead the team to position Allegiant as one of the top airlines in the industry, excelling in financial and operational performance, as well as guest satisfaction. Before joining Allegiant, Mr. Anderson worked for U.S. Airways and Ernst and Young, where his main focus was on the aviation sector.
