Alaska Airlines Introduces Sixth Special Edition Livery in Collaboration With Disneyland and Pixar

On Monday, Alaska Airlines introduced a newly painted 737-800, tail number N537AS, called “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland.” The Latest aircraft livery celebrates Pixar Pier, a new attraction area at the Disney California Adventure Park.

In collaboration with Disney and Pixar, the special-edition livery features Toy Story favorites Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. Special details include one of the Aliens from the popular animated movie series on each winglet. Additionally, children of all ages will be delighted as they are greeted by “Rex the Tyrannosaurus” at the boarding door.

In the company press release, Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines’ Managing Director of Brand Marketing and Advertising stated,


“There’s nothing better than landing happy on the way to the Happiest Place on Earth. The Disneyland Resort is one of our West Coast friendships, and we love that we can celebrate Pixar Pier by taking these iconic characters on a brand-new adventure.”


As shown in the included Alaska Airlines video, the whimsical paint job required 2,800 work hours to complete, taking 24 days and utilizing over 50 gallons of paint. The livery consists of 44 primary colors and numerous custom shades. In recognition of the collaboration, Disneyland Resort’s Vice President of Sales and Services, Lynn Clark stated,


“We celebrate friendship and beyond every day in Pixar Pier at the Disneyland Resort. Now, thanks to our great friends at Alaska Airlines, our guests are immersed in the celebration even before they arrive.”
