Lufthansa has announced that an Airbus A380 featuring the carrier’s iconic 100th anniversary XXL Crane livery has joined the fleet. This is the fourth aircraft with the special paint scheme, and will take to the skies in March.

On Thursday (February 26, 2026), Lufthansa announced the arrival of the fourth aircraft featuring their iconic 100th Anniversary XXL Crane livery. The aircraft, an Airbus A380, registration D-AIMH, touched down in Munich on the evening of Wednesday, February 25th as flight LH9901, and will enter service in March. The A380 came from Shannon, Ireland, where it had been painted with an XXL crane and the lettering ‘1926 | 202’ and ‘100,’ after being worked on by 35 colleagues for 34 days, who brought the 47-meter-long stylized crane on the aircraft to life and painted a total area of over 4,000 square meters.
The Airbus A380 is the fourth aircraft featuring the special livery to join Lufthansa’s fleet. At the beginning of February, a freshly painted Airbus A350-900 landed in Munich, while a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and an Airbus A320neo, both based in Frankfurt, are also flying in the 100th anniversary colors. On Friday (February 28th), another Airbus A320neo with the XXL Crane livery is scheduled to arrive in Munich, which will be followed by a Boeing 747-8 and an Airbus A350-1000 in the coming weeks.
